The latest newsletter is winging its way to subscribers. Pens, a Prairie-style house in Cornwall, talking to whales, missing Orient Express trains - your Sunday rabbit-hole is opening up:

Cartoon Gravity 37

Sunday 24 August 2025

Moving slowly today. Need to get the Cartoon Gravity newsletter done, then sort through a big pile of magazines, plan out next week in the Bullet Journal, and make some notes on a couple of potential upcoming projects.

Starting to find some value in the idea of micro-blogging already. It is much easier to throw something relatively inconsequential up here, as a record of a thought and just let it be.

Current listening: Miles Davis, “55”. I don’t need to tell you how good this is.

Recently finished reading: Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell 📚, which is stupendously good. I still prefer Bone Clocks, but that may be because it was the first of his that I read. I think if I had read Cloud Atlas when it came out, and known nothing about it, I would still be in recovery.

While I’m getting carried away here (and not really having a Saturday afternoon as the Good Lord intended), here is a house on the Thames that I am on the fence about.

Welcome to my Micro Blog

No, I'm not entirely sure why I have a micro.blog, but it seemed like a fun notion and I wanted to try it out. It might turn out to be a really low-pressure way to post a daily-something without all the "pressure" of doing an actual blog post.

We'll see. For now, this is what it is and this is where it is.

If you already have a micro.blog account, please give me a follow.
